Interest in the recently launched The Waterfront Huddersfield development has intensified ahead of the forthcoming Unfold show, the Leeds City Region’s only commercial property show which promotes key developments to occupiers, investors, agents and developers.
As a result Kirklees Council, in conjunction with commercial partner GVA, will be taking the opportunity to introduce the development to the region’s commercial property movers and shakers, with a view to attracting additional expressions of interest from investors, developers as well as prospective tenants from the commercial, leisure and education sectors. Visitors will be able to view detailed layouts of the scheme, along with inspirational computer generate images of how the development might look.
Since the launch of the development, a gateway setting with unique upgraded water frontage and with outline permission for over 18,000 sq m (190,000 sq ft) of highly efficient, cost-effective office space, GVA reports increasing numbers of enquiries from a range of parties, from developers looking for multi-use building opportunities to professional services firms keen to make this vibrant location their new home.
Matthew Tootell, Director of National Markets, GVA Leeds, is delighted with the response, as he explains; “Over the past few months we have been pleasantly surprised with the number of enquiries generated by the launch of the scheme, and we are now at the stage of marrying up clients looking to locate their business at The Waterfront Huddersfield with developers keen to sign up tenants prior to committing to the development. Whilst we are still at the pre-sign up stage with several clients we remain confident that we will be in a position to make an announcement very shortly.”
The Waterfront Huddersfield is one of the largest projects of its kind currently underway in the North of England and has the potential to provide up to 1,000 jobs.
Following the success of Unfold 2011, where 34 commercial developers platformed their exciting plans for schemes across the Leeds City Region, Unfold 2012 aims to be even bigger and better than last year’s event with a wide range of sponsor and exhibitor opportunities.
